Vacationland.
Sometime in late 2018 I decided to sketch a dream studio in my notebook, just as a ‘what if’ kind of thing. Then in early 2021, my dad and I built that studio from the ground up.
Everything was designed to make it a sonic playground - with as little time between idea and execution as possible. It features the ease of a one room studio for creating 1 on 1, but with 3 isolation rooms for the ability to track a full band live.
My gear list is constantly evolving - current features include
API, Neve, and Wunder pre amps
Bock 251, Soyuz microphones, vintage AKGs, lots of cool ribbons and oddball character mics
Prophet 6, Mellotron, Wurlitzer 200A, rare 60's Yamaha pump organ
Vintage and custom drums, cymbals and percussion from all over
Rubber bridge, baritone guitars, and more normal guitars
An 80’s TASCAM 6-track cassette recorder, and 70’s spring reverb from your dad’s old hi-fi
And a 1970's Baldwin upright piano into which the previous, and only, owner carved his name and social security number.
