Vacationland.

Sometime in late 2018 I decided to sketch a dream studio in my notebook, just as a ‘what if’ kind of thing. Then in early 2021, my dad and I built that studio from the ground up.

Everything was designed to make it a sonic playground - with as little time between idea and execution as possible. It features the ease of a one room studio for creating 1 on 1, but with 3 isolation rooms for the ability to track a full band live.

My gear list is constantly evolving - current features include

  • API, Neve, and Wunder pre amps

  • Bock 251, Soyuz microphones, vintage AKGs, lots of cool ribbons and oddball character mics

  • Prophet 6, Mellotron, Wurlitzer 200A, rare 60's Yamaha pump organ

  • Vintage and custom drums, cymbals and percussion from all over

  • Rubber bridge, baritone guitars, and more normal guitars

  • An 80’s TASCAM 6-track cassette recorder, and 70’s spring reverb from your dad’s old hi-fi

  • And a 1970's Baldwin upright piano into which the previous, and only, owner carved his name and social security number.

Here is some of the work that’s been made in Vacationland.
